The Waffle Stompers:"Black On Black"

You know... my Mom always says, "If you don't have anything nice to say about someone, you shouldn't say anything at all."

I...have nothing to say about "Black On Black" from The Waffle Stompers.

This 6-song EP is full of hard rock and heavy metal intertwined with a horn section, and packaged as "ska". If you shop at Hot Topic, you will probably think this band is the best thing since sliced bread. The rest of us will only want to throw this cd up in the air, and yell, "Pull!"

Whiskey Avengers: "Round One"

If ska-punk is your bag, why not give "Round One" by Whiskey Avengers a try.

I was pleasantly surprised by their recent performance at The Bluebeat Lounge.

This band sometimes sounds like Dropkick Murphy's and Sublime, other times like See Spot. Their versatility is definitely one of their assets. Stand out tracks include: "Leavin You", "Life Ain't Easy", And "The Good Life".
